Anesthesia Nursing Shines in 2010 Rankings of "America's Best Grad Schools" U.S.News & World Report has released its 2010 rankings of graduate programs and colleges. The University of Iowa Anesthesia Nursing Program has risen to #5 in the nation this year, marking an improvement over our previous ranking of #6, a level for which we were already proud. The dedication of our faculty, CRNAs, and affiliate site faculty is greatly appreciated and is key to maintaining such a strong program. In total, 21 UI programs are positioned in the top 10 for 2010. UI Executive Vice President and Provost Wallace Loh is quoted as stating, "It's a real tribute to our talented faculty and staff and students as the university is so highly ranked in so many programs. ... We're very proud of what they have accomplished." The Department of Anesthesia and the College of Nursing is also very proud of our SRNA program leadership and student body. UIHC Among "America's Best Hospitals" Ever since 1990, the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics has been named one of "America's Best Hospitals" in U.S. News World Report. Three surgical specialties- Otolaryngology (3rd), Ophthalmology (6th), and Orthopaedics (8th) are listed among the top ten in the nation. Nine more specialties are highly ranked. The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics also contains the 200 bed Children's Hospital of Iowa. As a result, each day, in the 30 state-of-the-art operating rooms of the University of Iowa, over 60 patients of every age undergo a variety of surgical procedures. Even though the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics have a history of more than a century of caring, almost all of its current facilities were completed in 1996.
